Collection studio
From the first idea to shipping, under one roof
Research, design, technical sheets, prototype, sales samples and production: every stage of the collection begins and ends inside alcostricot Holding.
The idea
One partner only
Many companies hand style over to an outside studio and production to a knitwear factory. We keep the two together. The designer works in the same place where the machines run, and this changes both lead times and the quality of the result: a stitch is tried straight away, a measurement is corrected on the garment itself, a technical sheet is drawn up for the very machine that will knit it. The client has one contact, one specification and one party answerable for the final result.

What we do
Three service areas, one single cycle
The three areas work on the same project inside the same facility: what the studio designs, production carries out.
Area 01
Trend research
Research is translated into the client brand's own identity, never applied in the abstract: a trend enters the collection only if it holds up in the brand's language.
- Trend analysis
- Colour cards
- Yarn and material research
- Seasonal moodboards

Area 02
Design and development
Every garment is described with flat measurements and production tolerances: the sheet is drawn up for the very machine that will knit it.
- Illustrations and technical drawings
- Stitch, cable and jacquard study
- Choice of gauge and fit
- Garment sheets with measurements, tolerances and size grading
Area 03
Production and delivery
The project does not change company when it becomes a garment: prototype, sales samples and production continue in the same cycle, right through to shipping.
- Prototype and correction
- Sales samples
- Production on latest-generation electronic knitting machines, both short and wide
- Embroidery and heat-applied details
- Quality control, pressing and making-up
- Labelling and DPP
- EX WORKS shipping

Every project is delivered to the client as a collection folder. Below are three plates from an internal example: the complete line with the figurines, the sheet of a single garment and the measurement chart with production tolerances. It is a demonstration document, for viewing only.
Demonstration document · not downloadable and not printable · the complete folder is delivered to the client during the project.
